2010 Update

Posted by Jeremy on January 22, 2010

So, I haven't been able to keep up with my website. I don't know if I'm letting it down a little bit, but I feel like I'm neglecting it too much. I'll see about updating it more often if I remember.

Anyways, I've just been working full time at my newest job. It's a lot of work, but the place isn't bad at all. Time flies by pretty quickly, even for an 8 hour day, and this Saturday, I'll actually have an 11 hour work day.

What's been happening most recently is my sister and her friend trying to find an apartment, and I was looking to go live with them as well in the new apartment. It would be a two bedroom, two bathroom, condo or town-home. We're looking to not spend anymore than $1200 for the entire rent. It's been hard finding a good place though. Some places are too small, or some are just ugly in general. And if we find a decent place, it ends up being located too far away.

That's about it for now. I'll once again try to maintain a frequent update to the site, and hopefully I can continue my hobby with web designs and programming! I don't want my full time job to take everything I love away from me!

Monday Happenings

Posted by Jeremy on September 28, 2009

Monday, Monday, Monday... Beginning of the week. Yes it is. Anyways, over the weekend, I flew to Arizona and was there to send back some of my personal items that had been left in storage for over a year since I had attended a community college in Chandler, Arizona back in 2007-2008.

I attended my second year of college in Illinois during the 08-09 year, and thus I had to leave my belongings in Arizona during that time because I thought I may end up going back to Arizona to attend the University of Arizona sometime the following year.

Well that did not happen, and now I may end up elsewhere in the world...

I will explain later, but I'm not sure when the next time I may be attending school will be.

Other than that, I'm looking at used cars in hope of buying a better one than driving this piece of junk Kia Rio around. This car deserves to be in the junk yard honestly.

Obtained full time job.

So lately, nothing has really been going on. A couple of weeks ago, I applied at 10+ locations in hope to find a good full time job to help me save up some money for college eventually. I had a couple of interviews, and finally managed to accept an offer with a company. I won't be getting payed anything near reasonable, but at least this is some money I'll be getting.

Other than the job situation, I've been spending lots of my free time developing more of my Stick Powerpoint Animations. You can see some of my animations from my profile on Youtube. I'll eventually make a page here for all my animations, but in the mean time, I'm working on some INTENSE recreations of my old animations. I'm actually pretty excited to release it. Hopefully it will attract new users to see my videos.

Anyways, that's about it really. In the screenshot to the left, you can see a small preview of how the new stick animation will sort of be looking like. I've really gone out of my way to put a lot of detail in the remake of my FIRST stick powerpoint animation.

REVISED VERSION OF MY ANIMATION ABOVE.

What's been going on?

Posted by Jeremy on August 10, 2009

Within the past month or so, some things have been going on or happening....

Sadly, my dog (Snowy) had to be put to sleep due to old age, and he was having some problems with his body. I grew up with him for the past 12 years, and I still can't believe he's gone. It's going to be hard to imagine waking up everyday knowing that he's not going to be around and that I'll never see him again. The only place I ever see him now is in my dreams.

Another issue that's been going on is me trying to gather enough money and financial aid to go to college. I had planned on going to a university starting this fall, however, it doesn't look like it's going to happen. I had all my plans setup, and i had paid all my fees for EVERYTHING! I chose my classes, I had a spot for me at the dorms with a great roommate that I've known for several years now, and I was all excited to take the next step in my life... Unfortunately, it doesn't look like financial aid is going to cover the cost of tuition and other expenses at the school, and I'm going to have to take a year or two off from college to work full time and get some money together to hopefully later attend college in the future.

So that's where I'm at now. I'm applying at a lot of businesses and companies to figure out where I would best be suited and who would want me to work for them. I know whoever takes me will not be disappointed, but considering how poor the economy is now, it's really hard to get a job. Hopefully things improve, but only time will tell.

Surgery on eyelids

Posted by Jeremy on August 09, 2009

At the end of July, I had surgery on my eyelids, which supposedly was to raise them a bit and help my peripheral vision. The doctor called it a slight case of ptosis, but most people didn’t notice it on me. After many MANY, doctors appointments, I was almost decided to not go through with the surgery. I felt I didn’t want to risk the look of my eyes for something as subtle as what was wrong with them currently.

I read reviews online about this type of surgery and there were so many negative thoughts on it and that it made the person look bad, or that they didn’t like the outcome of the surgery. I went to the final appointment before surgery to discuss if I should do it or not, and the doctor influenced me enough, and I finally agreed to go through with it.

The surgery took place on July 28th, and I didn’t feel a thing since I was put to sleep. I woke up, and could not really open my eyes, but I did get to chow on some Oreos at the surgical center during my recovery period, yummm!

It’s been about a week and a half, and the eyelids are not as much swollen as they were when I first had the surgery. I’ll get a picture up maybe in a week or two when most of the healing is complete, but until then, I have to sit around doing nothing! I can’t exercise for three weeks post-surgery, and that sucks. I have another week to go until my next doctor’s appointment, so hopefully I’ll be allowed to get physical again next week!
